Pearlin Peter

Operations Manager

I am Pearlin Peter, vibrant and passionate. A true daughter of Helen’s soil, born and raised in one of St. Lucia’s agricultural epicenters - Choiseul. I have a deep appreciation, and respect for agriculture. These values I developed from a very tender age, having been raised by parents who were themselves farmers. It is a well-known fact that agriculture is the golden master key to unlocking our self-sufficiency in food production. As one who studied Nutrition and Dietetics, I am even more cognizant of the importance of wholesome foods to health and wellness.

I believe firmly in the quote, “Let thy food be thy medicine.” I admire the dedication and humility espoused by those involved in the trade. The effort and enthusiasm compounded with the highly rewarding nature of the trade, have been a great source of motivation for me. Despite being quite labour intensive and sometimes dirt filled, I am not afraid to get involved at every level. I consider the garden to be a sanctuary of sorts and look forward to embracing nature from day to day. With a positive mindset, adequate technical and financial support, agriculture is poised to greatly improve the wealth of our country, bringing with it, immeasurable benefits to our people. As such, I am committed, as a member, but more importantly as the Operations Associate of Helen’s Daughters, to eliminate the stigma attached to farming specifically but agriculture generally. It remains my esteemed pleasure to communicate the mission and vision of Helen’s Daughters to as many potential farmers as possible, helping the organization to thrive.
